Reboot Your Life V28 Juice Recipe

My husband and I talked about doing a juice fast together after Christmas. Early last year we watched Joe Cross’ documentary and found it to be fascinating. There are so many great benefits in juicing, and since we already have a juicer and we are trying to go back to our juicing routine, we decided to give it a try. There are things we had to do before joining the reboot program, I am will be talking about it in this post.

We are entering our fourth day in the reboot program, and so far, everything is going well. The food is delicious, satisfying and very nutritional. We are only eating, blending, and juicing whole fruits and vegetables for 15 days.

I really wish I could post every recipe from the menu plan, but since this is not possible, I will be posting my favorite ones. Today, I have a very powerful juice recipe to share. This was my first time making it. With its strong color and incredible nutritional value, this juice is what I call, “power in a cup.” If you ever drink one of this, you will know what I am talking about!

V28 Juice Recipe

Adapted from Reboot Your Life (Menu Plan Day 2)

  • 3 large red beets
  • 2 medium carrots
  • 2 stalks of celery
  • 4 plum tomatoes
  • 4 cups parsley leaves and stems
  • 1/2 jalapeno
  • 10 red radishes
  • 1 lemon
The suggested serving is 16 oz per person. This recipe gave me about 3 8oz cups.
Wash all ingredients before juicing. Juice, the jalapeno, parsley, radishes, lemon (peel the lemon before juicing) and the plum tomatoes. Next, juice in the beets, carrots and celery. Enjoy it!

Before joining the reboot we had to…

Choose a Program:

We had to pick a program that would be fitting for us. The Standard Reboot Program looked great, since it gave us the option to eat, blend, and juice whole fruits and vegetables for 15 days.

They call it 5-5-5- for a reason! In the first 5 days we have a combination of eating, juicing and blending all our foods. The next 5 days, we are only juicing, and in the last five days we are back again on eating, blending and juicing our fruits and vegetables.

Have a Plan:

The Program is not hard to follow, but it took us a few hours to review the menu, put a list together, and go shopping for good quality ingredients. We chose to buy a  3 day supply of  fruits and vegetables at the time to keep it fresh, and we also chose to shop at stores that provide locally grown an organic fruits and vegetables.

Have a Budget:

Our grocery budget has definitely increased for this 15 day reboot. Our weekly spending amount has pretty much doubled.

Preparing the Meals:

Family members not in the program: Even though our children will benefit tremendously from all of that, they don’t have to have grains, good carbs and other protein sources cut from their diet. So, I had to think ahead of time and make sure they have other foods to eat.

Family members in the program: There is a lot of washing, chopping and bagging that comes with it. Some of the meals can be made ahead of time, even some juices can be made and stored in the fridge without losing the nutrients if the right juicer is used.

Reboot your life, reboot your site? Oh, why not. There are a few changes on the site, and I sure appreciate your feedback. I have an amazing husband that puts up with me and all my internet, blogging, and computer questions. He is actually  very good at what he does, but will never tell you that. I married a humble, genuine and very intelligent man. I am very honored to be his wife.

Have you ever participated in a reboot program or a juice fast before?  I would love to hear from you!

  1. Hi, I think your site might be having browser compatibility
issues. When I look at your blog site in Opera, it looks fine but when
opening in Internet Explorer, it has some overlapping.

I just wanted to give you a quick heads up! Other then that, fantastic blog!

  2. This is the right webpage for anybody who wants
to find out about this topic. You understand a whole lot its almost hard to argue with you (not that I really will need
to…HaHa). You definitely put a fresh spin on a topic which has been discussed
for decades. Great stuff, just great!

  3. Wow, what a great cleanse. I haven’t heard of this one before, but after seeing the ingredients in this recipe I can see why this would be so good for your body. I would love to try a cleanse some time, but am worried I would be hungry all the time…and I hate being hungry. I look forward to seeing more of your recipes during this cleanse, maybe it will change my mind! :-)

  4. Sounds like an interesting program. The juice looks fantastic, wow and the color is amazing! I recently got a new juicer and have made a few so far, but none with beets, will have to try this!

  5. Juliana! I think the worse part for me so far is over:). During the 5 days juicing only, I was not please to have all my meals in a cup. I was not hungry, but missed texture and chewing.

Well, 10 days are behind us, and these final 5 days are actually pleasant.I am back to eating and blending again. The recipes are very yummy and the juicing part is just for a snack. Thanks!

  6. Wow Ana Helena, you both are very courageous with this rebot program…I would not be able to do it…15 days will feel like forever. Good luck!
Hope you are having a great day :)

    • Hi! If you consider doing it, make sure you pick something that has a good plan, and it is satisfying. To go hungry is no fun:)

I believe that there is tons of benefits too. Fo me, I find myself sleeping well, more energy, no need for coffee:) my skin looks better and I feel better.

I brake in hives easily, and it is a mystery. It can be anything. No hives at all during the detox, also with my low immune system tendencies, these greater amounts of fruits and veggies help me a lot too.

I thing you should do it too:)

  7. That is a powerful juice, love the added jalapeno.

I am on the fence about such programs. I have done 3 and 5 days fast in the past. I found them very hard to do, unsatisfying and did not feel like it changed anything in the long run. But I think what I did was more severe then what you are doing. There is so much debate about fasting in general.

I do hope it works for you and enjoy the great juices.

    • Yes, Evelyne, This juice is powerful!!!

I agree, Some of these juice diets at too radical for me. What caught my attention on this one, was their menu plan. The first five days we have so many delicious salads, soups, smoothies and juices that I was willing to try. Now from day 6 to 10, we will be only juicing. But we have them 6 times a day and each time we will drink 16 oz. That is satisfying for me.

Because of some health issues, I have done other detoxes before, only eating fruits and vegetables. This is my first time doing with juicing it. I am always surprised how well my body responds to it.

Thanks for your comment Evelyne, and wish me luck:)

  8. I would love to try this kind of program if I had no kids. It’s sort of difficult preparing different set of meals for the family and myself, that’s why I discourage to commit. Otherwise it’s fantastic and I know I would be able to detox very quickly and cleanly… this drink is not only look healthy but sounds yummy and very appetizing! I’m trying really hard to live healthier life including portion control of each meal, less computer time, more exercise, etc. I think what you do inspire a lot of people and I can’t wait to do this kind of diet once kids are old enough and I get more time for myself!!

    • Nami! This program takes planning for sure. My two boys are eating all the soups, salads, smoothies that came with the menu. Sometimes they like the juices too. I had to supplement their meals, with other sources of protein and carbs too.

Yep! I find myself sitting a lot since I started blogging:)I also can’t leave like that. My next step will be a better exercise plan.

I have been so surprised how satisfying these meals are. But from day 6 to 10 will be only juicing. Lets see what is going to happen.

I do miss rice and beans very much. I Don’t think that Brazilians can survive without them:)

      • Yes, I agree. Rice and beans are the best one of protein, sister. Our Brazilian base food!:)

  9. I wish you luck during your reboot program! I definitely couldn’t bring myself to do anything like it =)

    • Hi Peggy,
Don’t say “I could never” to this. I started juicing and thought the taste of these funky vegetable concoctions some people show online (the color alone puts most people off) would be unbearable. NOT true. You can’t knock this until you try it because you will VERY LIKELY FIND that many recipes are very, very TASTY from the beginning! Also, your feeling of being healthier and your knowledge about the nutrition you’re taking in increases your pleasure so much that you’ll be blogging on here with a different view. Try it! I encourage you!

  10. Ahhh, I see why no fish! ;)
The site looks great, by the way, as does the color of this juice. Wow. Now, flavor-wise I have a hard time imagining it!
May I ask about benefits of such a cleanse? I’ve never participated in one and am curious since I see so many bloggers go through some form of cleanse now.

    • Kiri,

As soon as I am done with the program, I will be eating some delicious looking fish recipe I found in your blog:)

Sure Kiri, I can tell you what a detox does for me. I have done a few ones before, and this is my first time doing this program because I liked the variety of recipes I saw in their site.

I have a “sensitive” immune system, that has a tendency to get low very easily. Specially during winter.

Choosing what I eat is very important. After Christmas, I think I did too much and was getting sick again. The Detox is a natural way to boost my immune system faster.

I used to be sick, 3 months out of the year. No fun!!! One amazing doctor, helped me years ago and treated me for a year, teaching me how my body reacts to foods and ingredients here in America (Hives is a big problem for me too). After Christmas I felt sick again and decided to do this for 15 days.

After the 15 days, I will be introducing back, grains, nuts, good carbs, and other protein sources (mostly fish).

Now, there are other benefits too, you eat tons of good and nutritional stuff, your skin, sleep, energy, is reboot too. Also, you loose that extra weight from the holidays:)

Honestly, The flavor was not bad at all, if there is lemon in the juice:).

      • Well. As we eat balance food our body always says : THANKS!!! Blessing.
