My husband and I talked about doing a juice fast together after Christmas. Early last year we watched Joe Cross’ documentary and found it to be fascinating. There are so many great benefits in juicing, and since we already have a juicer and we are trying to go back to our juicing routine, we decided to give it a try. There are things we had to do before joining the reboot program, I am will be talking about it in this post.
We are entering our fourth day in the reboot program, and so far, everything is going well. The food is delicious, satisfying and very nutritional. We are only eating, blending, and juicing whole fruits and vegetables for 15 days.
I really wish I could post every recipe from the menu plan, but since this is not possible, I will be posting my favorite ones. Today, I have a very powerful juice recipe to share. This was my first time making it. With its strong color and incredible nutritional value, this juice is what I call, “power in a cup.” If you ever drink one of this, you will know what I am talking about!
V28 Juice Recipe
Adapted from Reboot Your Life (Menu Plan Day 2)
- 3 large red beets
- 2 medium carrots
- 2 stalks of celery
- 4 plum tomatoes
- 4 cups parsley leaves and stems
- 1/2 jalapeno
- 10 red radishes
- 1 lemon

Choose a Program:
We had to pick a program that would be fitting for us. The Standard Reboot Program looked great, since it gave us the option to eat, blend, and juice whole fruits and vegetables for 15 days.
They call it 5-5-5- for a reason! In the first 5 days we have a combination of eating, juicing and blending all our foods. The next 5 days, we are only juicing, and in the last five days we are back again on eating, blending and juicing our fruits and vegetables.
Have a Plan:
The Program is not hard to follow, but it took us a few hours to review the menu, put a list together, and go shopping for good quality ingredients. We chose to buy a 3 day supply of fruits and vegetables at the time to keep it fresh, and we also chose to shop at stores that provide locally grown an organic fruits and vegetables.
Have a Budget:
Our grocery budget has definitely increased for this 15 day reboot. Our weekly spending amount has pretty much doubled.
Preparing the Meals:
Family members not in the program: Even though our children will benefit tremendously from all of that, they don’t have to have grains, good carbs and other protein sources cut from their diet. So, I had to think ahead of time and make sure they have other foods to eat.
Family members in the program: There is a lot of washing, chopping and bagging that comes with it. Some of the meals can be made ahead of time, even some juices can be made and stored in the fridge without losing the nutrients if the right juicer is used.
Reboot your life, reboot your site? Oh, why not. There are a few changes on the site, and I sure appreciate your feedback.
